AirAsia’s Exclusive Sale For Facebook Fans
I think this could qualify as an epic fail! AirAsia originally asked their fans to watch out on Facebook at 1500hrs 1st April for their exclusive airfare sale exclusive for their fans only.
After the 1st timing had come and gone, and after many angry fans’ comments, AirAsia then promised to send a FB Update on April 2, 0001hrs.
What an unintentional April Fool’s joke eh? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Well, I shouldn’t have stayed awake. But I have to finish my job and bring you the best air ticket deals. The 2nd timing came and gone but still no special deals! You can imagine the fury of the now livid crowd.
After almost an hour, AirAsia finally decided to post their promo link on their FB wall. It was… a disappointment for most. From Singapore, only these 2 destinations were on sale: Bali & Langkawi.
We’re sorry we couldn’t compare the deals as we promised in the earlier post. There weren’t any same destinations flights to compare.
We did check out the flight to Bali. A return airfare will cost $70, with taxes and extra charges included, but excluding the luggage charges. So final price could be $80-90.

All these Facebook promos by these 2 budget airlines leave a bad taste in my mouth. They are more like publicity stunts than real deals. So the next time these 2 have a FB promo, don’t expect too much. In fact, expect mistakes and delays!

Well, after many hours of delay, Tiger Airways’ special sales for all their 20,000+ Facebook fans is now up and ready.
Some details:
- This offer is only valid for travel between Singapore and Bangkok, Jakarta, Haikou, Hat Yai, Phuket, Krabi, Kuching, Kuala Lumpur & Penang.
- The free seat offer excludes taxes and charges which must be paid in full by all passengers.
- Travel period from 01 May 2010 to 28 Feb 2011 (except Kuching & Penang from 01 Apr 2010 to 28 Feb 2011).
- Bookings are available now until 07 Apr 2010 inclusive, or until seats are sold out.

Cheaper Air Tickets China to ASEAN?
According to a news report today, China and ASEAN are close to an agreement that will lead to more open skies. And within ASEAN, a move towards opening up even more competition for air routes could be near to completion.
What does this mean for travellers? Well, more competition should mean lower airfares. Low-cost carriers like AirAsia, JetStar and Tiger Airways are expected to benefit from this liberalisation.
