More Duty-Free Liquor Options for Travellers
Reported by Travel Agency Singapore news
Travellers arriving in Singapore from April 1 will have more reasons to cheer, and with more options to “cheers!” with. Singapore Customs will allow an additional one litre of wine or one litre of beer in lieu of one litre of spirits.
Previously, the duty-free allowance is one litre each for spirits, wine and beer. From April 1, travellers have the additional choice of bringing in either more duty free wine or duty free beer to replace the duty free allowance given to spirits.
A traveller has to declare any excess quantities of liquor and pay duty and GST on them.
I’m pretty sure the duty-free liquor shops at Changi Airport and other ports will stand to gain from this relaxation of the rules.
Well, this is good news for wine lovers or beer drinkers. I’ll drink to that! Cheers!
