Transformers Ride Universal Studios Singapore Opens!
It is Official! Transformers The Ride opens in Universal Studios Singapore on 3 Dec 2011. The Ultimate 3D Battle is billed as a hyper-realistic 3D thrill ride, set in the futuristic world of Transformers. This world had creative inputs from Michael Bay, no less, the director-producer of the movie franchise. He was there too at the grand opening at USS.
This is the world premier of the world’s first theme park attraction based on the Transformers franchise. Transformers fans will get to ride inside a newly created Autobot called EVAC and whizz through tunnels, cityscapes and across rooftops in 3D and more! Fans will be transformed into the battle between the Autobot and the Decepticons. The Transformers ride will last about four minutes.
Special year-end holiday packages for Universal Studios Singapore will be launched via the Resorts World Sentosa website and travel agents.

Universal Studios Singapore Top 5 Attractions
Now that Universal Studios Singapore has had their grand opening, let Travel Agency Singapore give you what we think are the Top 5 attractions.
1. Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cylon
Going into Sci-Fi City, you will find that this zone is rather empty. There is good reason for that, because the biggest, meanest ride of Universal Studios Singapore stands tall here. The Battlestar Galactica is the world’s tallest dueling roller coasters! One look at the blue and red twisted skeleton of the ride is enough to give you jelly legs.
Based on the classic hit TV series, you can choose the blue side (Cylon) or the red side (Human). The Cylon Raider is a suspended roller coaster that will leave your legs free, and performs vertical loops, corkscrews and cobra rolls. The Human Viper Mk II is a seated roller coaster that launches you up fourteen storeys and hit speeds of 90km/h. At many points along the ride, you will experience twists, turns and near collisions.
This is a must-ride for the thrill seeker.
2. Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure
Located in The Lost World, the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure is a white water raft ride with animatronics and a thrilling white water drop. You sit on circular rafts and get tossed and spun around on waterways. Depending on your luck, you can get soaking wet, or just get a light spray of water on your head.
This ride is medium on thrills, but high on fun. When temperatures in Singapore hit 35 degrees Celsius, you’ll be glad to get wet!
3. Revenge of the Mummy
Just past the ancient pyramids and towering statues, you will reach the Revenge of the Mummy ride. This is a high-speed thrill ride in total darkness that travels through sharp turns, full rotation and fast reverse. You can attempt to avoid huge fireballs, flesh-eating scarab beetles and an army of merciless warrior mummies.
This attraction ranks high on thrills. You will get scared of the dark again. If the sun gets too hot in Universal Studios Singapore, this is a great choice because… air-con!
4. Madagascar A Crate Adventure
Great family fun! Go on an indoor river boat adventure as you arrive at the shores of Madagascar with Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria. Features: animatronics, digital projection, evocative sound, and moving show-action effects. The brilliant but crazy penguins will be there too!
This family friendly ride is suitable for children of all ages.
5. Shrek 4D
Feel as though you are part of a Shrek movie! In this indoor attraction, you will help save Princess Fiona in an original adventure. See it in 3D and actually feel the effects! Air blasts and water spray complete the 4D.
Before the ride, get swept into the story as various Shrek characters talk directly to you. Good fun and deserves a spot in our top 5!

Universal Studios Singapore Grand Opening

On 28 May 2011, Universal Studios Singapore will have their official grand opening! This comes slightly more than a year after the soft opening on 18 March 2010. A host of activities and events had been planned.
The celebrations start off with a Red Carpet Action on the evening of 27 May that can be viewed live at RWS website www.rwsentosa.com Among the star studded guests expected at Universal Studios Singapore are Jet Li, Paula Abdul and Maggie Cheung. Arnold Schwarzenegger was initially invited but had to pull out due to personal reasons.
Starting at 10am on 28 May, the grand opening activities include a stunning stunt show and a grand procession. The biggest stars of Universal Studios Singapore will strut their stuff at the procession. Stars like Marilyn Monroe, Woody Woodpecker, Betty Boop, Shrek and Princess Fiona, and the Madagascar gang.
Tourists and locals alike are likely to be happy with the grand opening of the theme park. After much delay, two of the star attractions are finally up and running. The Battlestar Galactica dueling coasters re-opened in Feb this year. Madagascar: A Crate Adventure also opened earlier this month.
There will also be a special promotion for F&B within Universal Studios Singapore for a whole week. More details at RWS website.

Universal Studios Singapore Sold Out Dates In July

It’s still early July, but many weekend tickets for Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa are already sold out! These are the dates that are sold out as of today 9 July:
10 July (Sat), 11 July (Sun), 17 July (Sat), 24 July (Sat), 25 July (Sun), & 31 July (Sat).
That’s right! For the rest of July, you can forget about visiting USS at RWS during any weekend if you’ve not bought your tickets yet.
What? Such huge demand even when the star attraction Battlestar Galactica is still closed without any news of when it’s going to re-open! Absolutely amazing!
We know many of you will be disappointed, especially those who had plans to go USS. Fret not! Our team of travel experts have searched, Googled, begged, steal, and found… Tickets! Yes! There are still tickets available if you check with the Singapore travel agent.
You can’t book online from the RWS website because they’re sold out. But… some Singapore travel agencies still have tickets available (probably reserved for them). We just did a check on Asiatravel.com’s website, and found that you can still book tickets to USS on 24 July, one of those weekends that are “sold out”.
No need to thank us. We’re just happy to help tourists and Singaporeans alike. Good luck and happy holidays!
Good luck to the closed rollercoaster ride Battlestar Galactica too!

Universal Studios Singapore Star Ride, Battlestar Galactica, Is Closed
Post by Singapore travel agency news
Just only a week after the Universal Studios Singapore (USS) opened on Mar 18, the main rollercoaster ride Battlestar Galactica is now closed indefinitely due to a technical glitch.
Resorts World at Sentosa said in a statement yesterday: “During our daily pre-opening testing this morning prior to opening to the public, we found a technical problem on one of the ride vehicles and we are investigating at the Battlestar Galactica attraction. In keeping with our commitment to employee and guest safety, the ride was immediately closed by Universal Studios Singapore and will not be operating until we determine the cause and solution.”
The ride is expected to be closed for several days or longer in order to conduct a thorough investigation.
“We understand some guests may be disappointed; however, the safety of our employees and guests remains our top priority.”
This will put a major dampener on those travellers who had already planned to visit USS during these few days. But we agree with USS stance on this. Safety has to be the top priority here.
Let us see if USS will do anything to lessen the disappointments. More vouchers perhaps? Or a free ticket to return when the Battlestar Galactica dueling roller coaster is back in action. Yeah!
On a side note, you can now buy tickets to USS on the same day. You don’t have to buy 1 day in advance anymore.
