  2. Maggie of Euro Asia,

We are greatly disappointed with Euro Asia’s services and wish to highlight the specifics in the itinerary were not followed… in Delhi we were not met by an agent at the international terminal and had to make several calls to Dolly, your staff and Sita Travel, your appointed agent in India before we were finally met by the agent after more than an hour of wait. Though the agent explained he was waiting for us at the Domestic Airport, we find this explanation unacceptable as your local agent had assumed we know our way around the airport and would find our way from the international to domestic airport when we were not informed of the actual meeting point. It is even more shocking to note that throughout the one hour of wait, the local agent made no attempt to contact any of us. Obviously, Euro Asia had failed in its duty of responsibility to give our mobile numbers to Sita Travel.

The second “surprise” came when we found out there was no tour guide accompanying us from Srinigar to Leh. At no point was this communicated to us. As a result, we were left to fend for ourselves. Six women left with two drivers, barely able to communicate as none of us spoke the local language and the drivers hardly spoke English. Throughout the journey, we had no clue on what to expect and had no means of communicating with anyone as none of our phones had line access. We had altitude sickness and were unwell. Lunch for two consecutive days was not provided even though the itinerary clearly states this is a full board tour. The drivers did attempt to bring us to some eateries patronised by the locals. This was not acceptable to us as no tourist in his/her right frame of mind would risk suffering from food poisoning or falling ill in a remote location with hardly any medical, toilet or phone access . The experience was terrible. Euro Asia had put 6 women’s lives at risk… We consider this a serious act of negligence and question the professionalism of Euro Asia in managing tours of such nature. At the minimum, we would expect to be advised prior to departure that we will not have an agent accompanying us in most part of our tour and be given appropriate tips to better manage the journey.

In Delhi, we spoke with Sita Travel and was advised that Dolly is fully aware of the entire arrangement. We were also shocked to learn that Sita Travel had tried to provide their professional advice on the planning of the tour but all advices fell to deaf ears. Euro Asia had acted very irresponsibly and ignored guidance from Sita Travel without consulting us.

On the positive side, we give credit to the tour guides in Srinigar, Leh and Agra. They were professional, knowledgeable and ensure our well being throughout.

In conclusion, we wish to state that our expectations were not met and believe Euro Asia owe us a written explanation. If Euro Asia had exercised its duty of care and acted responsibly, we would not have such a terrible experience. This letter would not have been written and we would not be greatly disappointed and distressed, feeling hungry, sick and ………
